Yoshida Model Airplane Kits: The Avion de Pénaud

Rubber band-powered model plane kits steeped in history, modern in design.

While these push propeller model airplane kits are decidedly modern in design, they date from the early years of aviation history. Avion de Pénaud is a new model for 2011. Designed and built in Paris 1871 by Alphonse Pénaud, it was the first rubber-band model plane ever to be built and flown! The kits use balsa wood, ultralight Styrofoam, rubber bands, and 5" reverse-pitch propellers. Each plane has a wingspan of approximately 16" and overall length of 18" Complete illustrated instructions are included. The kits are packed in boxes with appealing graphics.
