Walter Ruffler, one of Europe's most accomplished automata designers, makes humorous and sophisticated mechanical paper kits. These paper "machines" use cranks, levers, wood sticks, and thread to simulate amazingly lifelike movement. This paper machine kit contains what you need to make a working paper automaton: four construction sheets printed with the model parts, kebab and cocktail sticks, and fully illustrated step by step instructions. The model requires scoring, cutting, folding and gluing. You'll need some items for this; namely, a pair of scissors, a craft knife, glue (white school glue), a push pin, a needle, and a piece of string. Recommended for ages 12 and older. |
